Lindsay Clancy returns to court, attorney now argues ‘no evidence’ defendant admitted killing kids

Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts woman charged with killing her three young children, was back in court Tuesday morning for a hearing that could determine the future of the case. Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, argued in court that there’s not enough evidence she killed her children. Reddington pointed to questions about her condition when she was found in the yard outside her home after cutting herself and leaping from the second story window of her home, the Associated Press reported. 
He also pointed to her lack of memory about what happened after she woke up in the hospital. 
Three weeks ago, a judge declared a mistrial in the case after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict. 
During the trial, Clancy didn’t deny that she killed her children, and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was over medicated when she strangled the children and attempted to take her own life. Her ex-husband and first responders testified in that first trial that they arrived at the house to discover she’d tried to kill herself after killing the children. 
Prosecutors argued that she was criminally responsible for the children’s deaths and was capable of comprehending the severity of her actions. They haven’t yet said if they intend to retry the case. 
On Tuesday, Reddington didn’t offer any alternative theories about what actually happened that day the children died. 
“This entire case is based on speculation. There is no evidence that she admitted she did this,” he said in court.
