    Former Republican Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin was hauled off a Christian film set and booked into jail for 60 days after months of defying a family court judge’s orders to hand over financial records.

    Deputies from the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bevin on September 4, 2026, in Paris, Kentucky, where he had been working as a featured extra on a Christmas movie called The Greatest Christmas Gift of All. The arrest came on an outstanding bench warrant issued in June by Jefferson County Family Court Judge Angela Johnson, who found Bevin in civil contempt for refusing to turn over tax returns, bank statements, and other financial documents ordered as part of his divorce and child support proceedings. Newsweek reported that the warrant requires Bevin to spend 60 days behind bars and pay a $500 fine.
