Yet again burnishing her credentials as America’s most buffoonish member of Congress, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) went ballistic in an incoherent ramble about the Trump Administration’s tariffs, declaring that Trump is a “con man” and that using the tariffs to protect American industry while returning the money to Americans is a bad idea.
For reference, President Trump has mainly described and used the tariffs as a way of protecting American industry so that there are good domestic jobs for American workers, rather than as a means by which he can raise the revenues brought in by the federal government. As such, he has promoted ideas like the tariff dividend checks, which would return most of the money raised by them to Americans, while still helping protect the domestic economy.
