Rapper Vanilla Ice this week expressed interest in performing at President Donald Trump’s planned Washington, D.C., rally, which replaced a series of planned musical acts after many artists withdrew from the event.Vanilla Ice was one of several musical artists announced to play at the “Great American State Fair,” a weeks-long event on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. After the announcement, however, many of the artists withdrew from the event or denied involvement, with many asserting that they would not play a partisan event. Vanilla Ice was not among them.
Speaking on Fox News this week, the rapper said he did not know if he would perform at the substitute rally event, but said “I hope so… But I’m honored to even be invited for this.”
Trump announced the rally this week, adding that it would include musical. Singer Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA,” a longstanding stable of Trump events, is expected to feature prominently.
“All we want is you, me, a few speakers, and the greatest music ever played, the same music you have listened to for years,” Trump said. He further indicated that several military bands would participate.
