President Donald Trump announced a sweeping $22 billion overhaul of Dulles International Airport on Wednesday, delivering on his promise to fix what he has repeatedly called one of the worst-designed airports in the world.
The plan would tear out the airport’s much-maligned “mobile lounges,” the bus-like vehicles that have shuttled international travelers across the tarmac since the airport opened in 1962, replacing them with an underground train and a central walking tunnel.
