Trump teases two future meetings with Xi this year, including future trip to China

President Donald Trump teased Friday that he will be meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping two more times before the end of 2026, as the pair wrap up the Chinese leader’s official state visit.Xi spent three days in Washington, D.C., this week, which included a formal state dinner at the White House on Thursday night, a visit to the National Archives and tea with the president and first lady.
Trump touted the visit as a “success,” stating that much was accomplished in the visit but that more will be accomplished in the future at two other visits this year, including a trip to China in November.
“President Xi and Madam Peng have just left D.C., heading for China,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “The meeting was one of Friendship, Strength, and Success, for both China and the U.S.A. 
“We will be meeting again in November, in China, and then at the G20 in December, in Miami, Florida,” he continued. “Much has been, and will be, accomplished. I look forward to our next meeting!”
Both heads of state have remained vague on the substance of their discussions, though Trump indicated he had discussed his plan to rebrand AI from “artificial intelligence” to “super intelligence.” Xi also announced that China would send two giant pandas to the Atlanta zoo in an extension of Beijing’s “panda diplomacy.”
