U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has confirmed that a proposed executive order requiring banks to collect citizenship information from their customers is “in process” and will likely arrive later this year.
According to Just the News, the executive order was first considered earlier this year and is expected to require banks to request additional identification documents from customers to prove citizenship.
