Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced on Tuesday that the formerly mandatory annual influenza vaccine for US military members will now be optional.
The memorandum signed by Hegseth states, effective immediately, that the annual influenza vaccine is voluntary for all active and reserve component service members and War Department civilian personnel.
