Multiple people were injured in a mass shooting Thursday afternoon at the Mall of Louisiana, in Baton Rouge, according to local media reports.The Baton Rouge Police Department confirmed two people are in critical condition and multiple others were hurt in the shooting, according to WAFB. At least six were transported to a local hospital.
Louisiana Republican Gov. Jeff Landry confirmed the shooting and said he is working with law enforcement to find out more.
“I am aware of the active shooter scene at the Mall of Louisiana,” Landry said on X. “I am in coordination with law enforcement and we will update as we know more. Please avoid the area.
“Sharon and I are praying for those affected and are grateful for a quick response by our law enforcement officials,” he added.
