Meta Platforms has acknowledged that some Ray-Ban smart glasses captured audio without the user saying the “Hey Meta” wake phrase, and the company said the issue has been resolved. The acknowledgment followed user reports in October 2026 that recordings appeared in the Meta AI app as saved audio files and text transcripts.
The user reported that the “Respond without Hey Meta” setting was off and that the white notification light sometimes activated during normal speech.
