Five-Minute Walk Breaks Every Hour Found to Offset Harms of Prolonged Sitting, Study Says
A study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine has concluded that taking five-minute walking breaks every hour is both feasible and effective in reducing health risks associated with prolonged sitting. The research, conducted by scientists at Columbia University Medical Center, analyzed data from more than 19,300 adults who participated in an interactive “Body Electric Challenge” organized by National Public Radio (NPR).
