Eight States Sue OpenAI Over ChatGPT Age Verification and Consumer Protection Claims
Eight state attorneys general filed separate lawsuits against OpenAI on Oct. 14 in their respective state courts, alleging the company’s ChatGPT chatbot violates state consumer protection laws, according to copies of the petitions. The states are Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, West Virginia, Arkansas, Arizona, Idaho and Montana [1].
