The Department of Homeland Security is considering spending up to $20 million on electric-shock gloves designed to give U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers another less-lethal option when making arrests.
DHS filed documents Monday seeking to move forward with purchasing the G.L.O.V.E., short for Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter. Manufacturer Compliant Technologies describes the equipment as a “Conductive Distraction and De-escalation Device.”
