Former Attorney General Pam Bondi will testify before the House Oversight Committee on May 29, The Hill reported. The planned testimony follows her receipt of a subpoena from the panel while serving as attorney general. Despite her departure from the role, the committee has continued to demand her testimony about the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein files and its related investigations.
“Pam Bondi has illegally defied our committee, skipped her deposition, and has refused to cooperate,” wrote Ranking Member Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif. “Bondi has extensive personal knowledge about the Trump Administration’s handling of the Epstein files, and regardless of her job title, her testimony and deposition are crucial.”
Bondi previously failed to appear for a scheduled deposition. Republicans on the panel have increasingly grown hawkish in the investigation of the Epstein matter. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., for instance, previously broke with the FBI in concluding that the late sex-trafficker was likely running a honeypot operation.
The panel voted to subpoena Bondi in early March, while she was still attorney general.
