    Apple Asks Judge to Stop OpenAI From Using Products Made With Its Trade Secrets

    Apple Inc. filed for a preliminary injunction against OpenAI and two former employees on Aug. 3 to stop OpenAI from operating any products created allegedly using its trade secrets as Apple’s lawsuit against the artificial intelligence developer proceeds.

    The latest filing also requests the court to order a full forensic inspection of OpenAI’s devices and cloud-based storage for any stolen trade secrets.Apple, based in Cupertino, Calif., filed the initial complaint in July in U.S. District Court in San Jose, Calif., alleging that two former employees stole trade secrets to speed up OpenAI’s entry into the consumer hardware market.
