Protect Girls Sports in Arizona, a group advocating for restrictions on transgender participation in sports, has filed a complaint against an opposition group for allegedly imitating its website to deceive voters.Arizona’s Proposition 318 campaign involves a ballot initiative that would impose tighter restrictions on transgender participation in sports in the state.
In a press release, the Protect Girls Sports in Arizona/Yes-on-318 campaign objected to an opposition group’s apparent imitation of their website, claiming to be Protect Girls Sports in Arizona, but opposing 318.

“This is emblematic of the issue – pretending to be something you’re not, The No on Prop 318 eSort violates Arizona campaign finance law with no disclosure of a committee or contact. Even the URL ownership for their ill-named www.ProtectGirlsSportsAZ.vote is masked,” Attorney Tim Lasota said in a statement.
“These deceptive practices are ethically wrong and likely illegal. We are filing a campaign finance complaint with the Secretary ofState and asking the Attorney General to investigate this as a consumer protections violation,” he added.
Proposition 318 would expand existing state restrictions on transgender participation in sports to include private schools and clubs.
