The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Wednesday confirmed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) latest roundup of illegal aliens had seen the arrest of child abusers, firearm traffickers, and drug traffickers.Under the Trump administration, ICE and DHS have worked to implement the president’s mass deportation agenda to remove as many as 22 million illegal aliens from the country. While authorities have logged a roughly 3 million decline in the total foreign-born population of the U.S. since Trump returned to the White House, the administration still hopes to post greater numbers.
Much of the crackdown focuses on the “worst of the worst” criminal illegal aliens. The latest crackdown featured five aliens with prior convictions.
“Yesterday, the patriots of ICE worked tirelessly to arrest child abusers, reckless drivers, and drug traffickers from our communities,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said. “President Trump promised to make America safe again, and removing illegal aliens is exactly how we do that. We are delivering the American people’s mandate and putting the safety of the American people first.”
Topping the list was Jose Hernandez-Rodriguez of Mexico, who was convicted for sexual battery involving a child under 14.
Rosa Maria Hernandez-Perez of Mexico was previously convicted for second-degree child abuse and neglect of a minor.
