Now that the Trump administration is telling America that communism, once again, poses a grave threat to U.S. “national security,” the question naturally arises: Will the U.S. government revive the programs that protected us from the Reds during the 45 years of the national-security establishment’s old Cold War racket?
If so, right at the top of the list will undoubtedly be a renewal of the McCarran Act, which was also known as the Internal Security Act of 1950. As a premier part of the old Cold War racket, its purpose was to target domestic communists. Isn’t that what we need today to protect us and keep us safe from the Reds?
