A former National Institutes of Health (NIH) official has alleged that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates used hundreds of millions of dollars in donations to the agency to influence research priorities in ways that benefited the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), according to a report published June 9 by RealClearInvestigations and written by journalist Paul D. The whistleblower, whose name has not been publicly disclosed pending an ongoing review, described what he called a “complete merging” of the NIH and the BMGF under the leadership of former NIH Director Francis Collins and former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci.
