Is coal really as dirty as you’ve been told? In this episode of Energy at a Glance, Linnea Lueken, Senior Fellow at The Heartland Institute, walks through coal’s real environmental footprint. Coal generates more electricity worldwide than any other single source, yet it’s constantly under attack in Europe and North America over its reputation for dirty air. That reputation has roots in reality: decades ago, coal use in homes and at power plants left soot everywhere. But scrubbers and other modern emissions-control technology have changed the picture dramatically.
