USPS rush to comply with Trump’s mail-in ballot order prone to errors, whistleblower says

The U.S. Postal Service is rushing to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order, which aims to create more election security with mail-in ballots, and the USPS’s hastily designed system is riddled with errors, according to a statement from an unidentified whistleblower. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., released the individual’s statement on Tuesday. The whistleblower claims that the complex system the USPS is building to comply with Trump’s order would normally take a year, but it’s having to be done in three months, the Associated Press reported. 
The whistleblower claims that, due to the new procedures, a single scanning error in a batch of tens of thousands of ballot envelopes could prevent any from reaching voters. 
A federal judge last week blocked the government from implementing the order for two weeks, and the Trump administration is appealing the ruling. Sometimes, according to the whistleblower’s statement, the USPS proceeds with the work in defiance of the judge’s orders.
