US completes ‘eighth consecutive night’ of strikes against Iran: CENTCOM

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the U.S. completed an eighth round of strikes against Iran on Saturday evening at 11:30 p.m. ET, at the direction of President Trump.”During the eighth consecutive night of U.S strikes, CENTCOM forces successfully hit Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities. American military assets also targeted Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces that launched attacks against U.S. service members in Jordan on July 17,” read a news release.
“More than 50,000 U.S. men and women in uniform are operating across the Middle East. They remain highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready,” the release also read.
CENTCOM provided an update on Sunday on the naval blockade.
“U.S. Navy Sailors remain focused and vigilant aboard guided-missile destroyer USS John Finn (DDG 113), as American forces continue implementing the naval blockade against Iran. As of July 19, CENTCOM has redirected 6 commercial vessels and disabled 1 to ensure full compliance,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
