Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that he would be willing to freeze the front lines and end the war with Russia.Zelensky proposed an immediate ceasefire where the front lines currently exist, which would allow for peace talks to begin.
“Right now, we have to freeze, and I think this is a real way to end this war,” Zelensky told Fox News.
Any deal, Zelensky said, would need to include protections from the U.S. and Europe to ensure Russia never attacks again.
Zelensky disputed Russian claims that Moscow is gaining ground in the war, and he said that Russia uses drone and missile attacks on civilians to force land concessions.
“People are tired, of course. We want to end this war as quick as possible,” Zelensky said.
