A provision buried in the House version of the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) would integrate the defense technology and intelligence apparatus of the United States and Israel at a level unprecedented for any other nation, according to policy analysts and congressional critics.
Section 224 of the bill, titled the “United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative,” grants Tel Aviv access to U.S. technology development and “data fusion,” effectively transforming the relationship from aid recipient to a formal partner in the U.S. defense and intelligence enterprise.
