Trump: Xi seemed supportive of AI rebrand to ‘super intelligence’

President Donald Trump on Friday said that Chinese President Xi Jinping had appeared supportive of his proposal to rename AI from “artificial intelligence” to “super intelligence.”Trump has, in recent weeks, floated the rebranding, saying it is a more accurate description of the technology.
“Very productive meeting with President Xi for both the U.S.A. and China. Tremendous things will be happening,” he posted on Truth Social. “Like almost everyone else, he seemed to like calling the poorly and inaccurately named Artificial Intelligence to a far more accurate and important name, SUPER INTELLIGENCE.”
“That would be ‘SUPER!’ Everyone last night agreed, also,” he added, evidently referencing the formal state dinner that he hosted for Xi’s visit.
Trump has carved out a stalwartly pro-AI position amid calls for a slowdown within the industry. He has also backed the continued construction of data centers, despite bipartisan pushback.
