Trump warns he will be last GOP president if Senate doesn’t end filibuster

President Donald Trump on Monday warned that he would be the final Republican president if his party did not eliminate the Senate filibuster, saying that Democrats would pack the courts and add additional states to remain in power.Trump has repeatedly pressured the Senate to eliminate the 60-vote filibuster to pass marquis legislation, though Senate Majority Leader John Thune has been unwilling to do so. He has also resisted Trump’s call to fire the Senate parliamentarian to ram through bills with a simple majority.
“If Senate Republicans don’t TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, the Dumocrats will, and I will be, despite how well our Party is doing, the last Republican President!” he warned on Truth Social. “The Dumocrats will vote in Puerto Rico (4% Republican Vote), and Washington, D.C. (3% Republican Vote), pick up 4 Senators, 8 Congressmen/women, tremendous numbers of Popular and Electoral College Votes and, importantly, control the Voting Mechanisms and Systems, both Legal and otherwise, throughout the United States.”
“It will be impossible for Republicans to ever win an Election again. In other words, it will be THE END OF AMERICA!” he added.
Democrats have repeatedly floated expanding the Supreme Court to reverse landmark legal decisions and ending the filibuster to ram through their own legislation.
Trump has repeatedly suggested ending it while Republicans are in power to beat Democrats to the punch.
