President Donald Trump showed off figures Sunday calculating the rate by which Republican primary candidates he’s endorsed have been elected in 2026. “My Endorsements are stronger than ever — Not to mention the fact that good people are getting elected that never had the chance!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social, which included graphs of the data supporting the president’s statement.
In 2026, according to the figures Trump posted, 254 of 262, 97%, candidates he endorsed won their primaries. That includes 100% of Senate primary candidates, 98% of House primary candidates and 80% of gubernatorial primary candidates.
Trump also showed his record from 2018 through 2026, and Republican primary candidates he endorsed in each of those years won by 96% or higher.
Trump endorsed the highest number of primary candidates in 2026, with 262 primary candidates receiving Trump’s endorsement. The lowest was in 2018, when Trump endorsed 35 Republican primary candidates. One of those candidates lost that year, for a 97% success rate.
“The few that lost were done out of loyalty. It was almost impossible for them to win but, I felt obligated to go with them because they were, in my opinion, good people!” Trump said.
