President Donald Trump expressed optimism that the conflict in Iran is nearing its conclusion. In an interview with Fox News Tuesday, Trump said that the U.S. has “totally” beaten the Iranian regime and the war will soon come to an end.
“I think it’s close to over. I view it as very close to over,” Trump said.
Trump added that the damage done to the country during the course of hostilities has been extensive. “If I pulled up stakes now, it would take them 20 years to rebuild that country, and we’re not finished,” he said.
Once the conflict is over, Trump said the “stock market is going to boom,” more than it already is.
