President Donald Trump on Monday excoriated a heckler who disrupted his speech in Michigan, calling him a communist and using the incident to warn of the consequences of the growing influence of the far left in the United States.The heckler called Trump a “pedophile protector,” in apparent reference to his alleged cover up of the Epstein files. Some critics of the administration’s handling of the issue have embraced that rhetoric, insisting that the president was protecting powerful elites with ties to Epstein.
As the heckler was removed from the event, Trump called him a “communist.” He then said “we’re running against communists” and warned of their platform.
“They want to take your houses. They want to do things that nobody’s ever even thought of before. They want to take your money. They want to raise your taxes up to 80%,” he said.
He also sarcastically backed the far-left push to abolish the police, saying “I think that’s a great idea. Does everybody like that idea?”
