President Donald Trump has asked for several provisions of a proposed nuclear agreement with Iran to be rewritten, reopening negotiations even after U.S. and Iranian negotiators appeared to be nearing a final deal, according to a senior administration official and another source cited in a report. Trump raised concerns about specific elements of the agreement during a Situation Room meeting on Friday, with officials saying he wants stronger language on certain issues, including the handling of Iran’s nuclear material, Axios reported. While Trump remains committed to securing an agreement and hopes to finalize it soon, his requested changes have triggered another round of negotiations that could continue for several days.
