Trump executive order revives vaccine safety task force, mandates 90-day reform plan
President Trump signed an executive order directing HHS to deliver a 90-day plan for overhauling childhood vaccine policy.
The order follows a lawsuit by attorney Ray Flores, backed by Children’s Health Defense, over decades of noncompliance with a 1986 vaccine safety law.
HHS reinstated the Task Force on Safer Childhood Vaccines in August 2025, shortly before responding to the lawsuit.
The order recommends separating combination vaccines like MMR into single shots and developing alternatives to aluminum adjuvants.
Federal agencies are directed to support parental choice, religious exemptions and legal challenges to state vaccine mandates.
