President Donald Trump on Thursday endorsed Rep. Barry Moore, R-Ala., to succeed Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., who is running for governor.”Barry Moore, running for United States Senate in the GREAT State of Alabama, one of my all time favorites, is a Fantastic guy and a totally reliable MAGA Warrior!” Trump posted on Truth Social. “He has my Complete and Total Endorsement – He will never let you down. Win, Barry, Win!”
Moore first won election to Congress in 2020 and currently represents a large swathe of southern Alabama. He faces state Attorney General Steve Marshall and former Trump administration official Morgan Murphy. Business owner Rodney Walker and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson are also running.
The seat is regarded as safely Republican and the vacancy follows Tuberville moving to succeed Gov. Kay Ivey, R-Ala., instead of seeking reelection.
