President Trump escalated his fight over election integrity legislation Monday, calling on Senate Majority Leader John Thune to “immediately fire” Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough, the unelected official whose procedural rulings have kept the SAVE America Act out of the Republican budget reconciliation package.
The demand, posted on Truth Social, marks at least the second time in five weeks Trump has publicly pressured Thune to replace MacDonough. And for the second time, Thune appears uninterested in complying.
