The declaration, delivered to reporters while Trump attended a NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, marks the most definitive rupture yet in a fragile diplomatic process that has been fraying for weeks.
“For me, I think it’s over,” Trump told reporters at the summit. He left a narrow opening for continued contact but made clear he sees little point: “They can talk, but I think they’re wasting their time.”
