    Trump again says peace deal with Iran is close: ‘in two or three days’

    U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that a peace deal with Iran could be reached “in two or three days.” Trump made the remarks while talking to reporters in New York, where he was attending the NBA finals in Madison Square Garden, Politico reported. He said despite the exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran, a peace deal was near. 
    “Now they both agreed, through me, to stop, and now we’re in the final throes of what will be a very, very good deal,” Trump said. 
    The deal, Trump said, would stop Iran from having a nuclear weapon, a key demand for the Trump administration that Iran has resisted so far in the ongoing negotiations. Should an agreement be reached, the Strait of Hormuz would “immediately” open up upon signing, Trump said.
