    Trump administration shelves DOJ’s $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund after legal setbacks and GOP pushback

    The Trump administration plans to drop the Department of Justice’s $1.8 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund after a federal judge blocked the program and Republican leaders in Congress signaled they wanted the White House to pull the plug itself. Multiple outlets reported Monday that the fund, created to compensate Americans targeted by prosecutorial overreach during the Biden era, is now off the table, at least for the time being.

    A senior administration official told Axios the fund is “dead for now.” Punchbowl separately reported that “the administration is expected to announce that they are going to comply with the court order and not go forward on the weaponization fund.” MS NOW confirmed the Axios report shortly after.
