The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to clear a lower-court block on Big Bend border barriers, calling the ruling a baseless obstacle to securing the southern border.
Solicitor General D. John Sauer filed an emergency request Wednesday pressing the justices to let barrier and road construction resume around Texas’s Big Bend region. A federal district judge had stopped the work earlier this month after environmental plaintiffs sued.
