    Trump admin drops UPenn subpoena seeking to identify potential victims of antisemitism

    The Trump administration dropped its effort to subpoena a list of Jewish people at the University of Pennsylvania, which brings to an end legal battles between the university and the administration. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued the subpoena against the university last summer seeking personal contact information of employees associated with the university’s Jewish Studies Program and Jewish-affiliated organizations. The move was part of an investigation into potential victims of antisemitism in the wake of the October 2023 Hamas terror attacks on Israel, Politico reported. 
    The university refused to supply the data, and the EEOC sought a court order to enforce it, initiating a year-long legal battle. 
    On Thursday, the EEOC agreed not to enforce the subpoena and the university agreed to file a stipulation of dismissal, asking the court to end the case.
