Deputy National Security Advisor Andy Baker will leave the Trump administration in the next few weeks, acccording to a new report Friday.Baker was previously the national security advisor to Vice President JD Vance and worked closely with him on negotiations to end the Iran war, according to the news outlet Axios.
“Andy is an exceptionally gifted, deeply thoughtful advisor who has served the President and me with distinction,” Vance said. “He has been an indispensable member of our administration’s national security team. For the over three years that Andy has been by my side, I’ve always valued his counsel and have been grateful for the difficult work he’s done.”
He reportedly had planned to leave much earlier, but remained in his post to oversee a transition of staff.
