“The number of wild tigers in Nepal has reached 429, up from an estimated 121 in 2009,” reports The Doomslayer.
The growth of the tiger population “is concentrated almost entirely in the country’s newer national parks,” while their population has stagnated in older parks. That is due to “invasive weeds” such as bitter vine “degrading grazing land in the older parks”, and “better water infrastructure” in the new parks attracting tigers there.
