Three Secret Service officials placed on administrative leave pending outcome of investigation

Three officials with the U.S. Secret Service were placed on administrative leave on Tuesday, pending the outcome of an investigation by the agency’s professional standards office. All three officials worked in the communications office, including the agency’s top spokesman, Anthony Gugliemi, Real Clear Politics reported, citing unnamed sources. 
The three have been removed from their posts and stripped of their security clearances, as an investigation into possible misconduct is carried out.  Investigators are looking into how classified or sensitive information leaked to the press. 
The three were escorted from Secret Service headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Monday. Agents and officials are placed on administrative leave and have their security clearances revoked during an investigation, but the actions don’t confirm any wrongdoing.
