Dr Ramona Coelho, who is a senior fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, an adjunct professor of family medicine at the University of Western Ontario’s Schulich School of Medicine and a past member of the Ontario MAiD Death Review Committee was published by the National Post on October 16 with her article: Ottawa keeps mucking up MAiD.
In her Special to the National Post, Coelho is responding to Canada’s federal parliament defeating Bill C-218, the bill that would have prevented euthanasia for mental illness, as a sole criteria, and the announcement, by the federal government, to expand euthanasia to approval by advanced directive.
