James Talarico, a Texas Democrat seeking the party nomination for the Lone Star State’s 2026 Senate race, brought in a $7 million fundraising haul in the last quarter, his campaign confirmed.Talarico is vying with Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, for the Democratic nomination. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, currently holds the seat, but faces a contentious primary against state Attorney General Ken Paxton and Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas.
The Talarico campaign announced it had brought in $6.8 million since October, according to The Hill. That figure is sure help him in the primary against Crockett, who is currently seen as the favorite for the Democratic nod.
“With the help of more than 215,000 neighbors, we are building a campaign to win the primary, win the general, and deliver for working people across Texas,” Talarico said.
Long a Republican bastion, Texas began to creep toward battleground status since 2016, though that trend decidedly reversed in 2024, when Trump took the state by double digits.
