The 17-year-old charged with six felonies connected to a shooting spree this past weekend in Austin, Texas reportedly is not a U.S. citizen and was being held in an ICE facility. The defendant, Christian Mondragon-Fajardo, had his first court appearance Tuesday. He is charged with six felonies, including two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, two counts of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, theft of firearms, and evading arrest with a motor vehicle, according to FOX7.
He was on probation through the juvenile justice system, and he had an active warrant for allegedly stealing a firearm from a store.
“Same illegal perp stole a gun in January and got juvenile probation. He should have been removed from the country,” Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, said on X.
Two other juveniles were arrested in connection with a string of shootings, vehicle thefts and robberies in Austin on May 16 and May 17.
Detectives believe that not all the incidents were random, and the suspects knew some of the victims.
