Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico broke the record for the largest third-quarter fundraising haul in Senate campaign history this year. The Texas Democrat brought in a total of $64 million in the third quarter, bringing his campaign total to $134.3 million since launching his bid for Senate, Politico reported.
The figure comes as the race enters its home stretch. While Talarico has held the advantage in polling over state Attorney General Ken Paxton, recent surveys have shown a narrowing race.
Talarico defeated Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, for the party nod while Paxton ousted Sen. Jon Cornyn, R-Texas, in a bitter primary struggle.
