The gunman suspected of firing shots at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner will be arraigned Monday in federal court in Washington, D.C. Authorities have identified Cole Thomas Allen, 31, as the suspect who fired shots at the event, striking one Secret Service agent whose bulletproof vest prevented serious injuries or death.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said Allen will be charged with assault on a federal officer using a deadly weapon and using a firearm during a crime of violence, as well as other charges, CBS News reported.
“It is clear, based upon what we know so far, that this individual was intent on doing as much harm and as much damage as he could,” Pirro said.
