Suicide rates among American men and women declined between the years 2023 and 2024, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The suicide rate for men fell from 22.7 per 100,000 individuals to 22.3 during this period. For women, the rate declined from 5.9 to 5.6. Suicide rates for men were roughly three to four times higher than females for the 10 years between 2014 and 2024, the CDC said in a report on Wednesday.
