The late night comedy shows’ desire to trash the Supreme Court for its recent ruling that paved the way for the elimination of mandated majority-minority districts continued on NBC’s Saturday Night Live when Weekend Update co-anchor Michael Che compared the decision to the days of the Civil Rights Movement when protestors were attacked with firehoses.
Che quipped that “Legal experts are saying that this week’s Supreme Court ruling has taken a wrecking ball to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, but if you ask black people, it felt more like a firehose.”
