    In a party-line vote on Thursday, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress for refusing to answer questions about his pandemic-era decisions, escalating a yearslong feud with Chairman Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) that now heads to the Justice Department for possible prosecution. The vote stems from Fauci’s decision last week to invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 100 times during a hearing on COVID-19’s origins.
