The Senate Judiciary Committee passed six bipartisan law enforcement bills that expand support for law enforcement. “Every American owes a debt of gratitude to the brave men and women in blue who put their lives on the line to protect our communities. Law enforcement officers deserve our wholehearted support to ensure they and their families are protected … As always, I’m proud to Back the Blue and will continue my work to make sure these critical bills are signed into law,” Iowa GOP Sen. Chuck Grassley, chair of the committee, said in a statement.
Among the legislation the committee advanced on Thursday during National Police Week was TREY’s Law, which would void non-disclosure agreements silencing survivors of child sexual abuse. The measure was advanced by voice vote.
